Significance:    One of the 51 Shakti Peeths

Shri Naina Devi Ji Temple is one of the most prominent places of worship in Himachal Pradesh and is dedicated to Goddess Sati, who was an incarnation of Goddess Durga. Shri Naina Devi Ji is one of the most notable places of worship in Himachal Pradesh. Located in Distt Bilaspur, it is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths where limbs of Sati fell on Earth. This holy place witnesses the huge crowd of pilgrims and devotees round the year and especially during Shravan Ashtami and in the Navratras of Chaitra & Ashwin. This temple was built by Raja Bir Chand in the eight century, when he found the beautiful image of Goddess Durga on top of the hill.

Special fair is organized during Chaitra, Shravan and Ashwin Navrati, which attracts millions of visitors from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and other corners of the country.Naina Devi Temple is a sacred place especially for the Hindus. Pilgrims come to visit this temple to pay their homage to the Goddess. According to the legends, the different body parts of Sati fell on the earth during the time of self-sacrifice. It is believed that Sati's eyes fell at this point and subsequently, a temple was built here to commemorate the goddess. The term 'Naina' suggests 'eyes', so the goddess came to be known as Naina Devi.

झाँझा और मिरदंगा बाजे,

और बाजे शहनाई |

तुरई नगाड़ा ढोलक बाजे,

तबला शब्त सुनाई |

तेरे द्वारे नौबत बाजे || आजा! मेरी नैना माई ए |

पीला चोला जरद किनारी,

लाल ध्वजा फहराये |

सिर लालों दा मुकुट विराजे,

निगाह नहिं ठहराये |

तेरा रूप न वरना जाए || आजा! मेरी नैना माई ए |

पान सुपारी ध्वजा,

नारियल भेंट तिहारी लागे |

बालक बूढ़े नर नारी की,

भीड़ खड़ी तेरे आगे |

तेरी जय जयकार मनावे || आजा! मेरी नैना माई ए |

कोई गाए कोई बजाए,

कोई ध्यान लगाये |

कोई बैठा तेरे आंगन में,

नाम की टेर सुनाये |

कोई नृत्य करे तेरे आगे || आजा! मेरी नैना माई ए |

कोई मांगे बेटा बेटी,

किसी को कंचन माया |

कोई माँगे जीवन साथी,

कोई सुन्दर काया |
