Annapurna Devi Mata
Annapurna is a combination of two words- ‘Anna’ meaning food and ‘purna’ meaning ‘filled completely’. Annapurna is the goddess of food and kitchen. She is an avatar of Goddess Parvati who is the wife of Lord Shiva. She is the goddess of nourishment and never lets her devotees stay without food. She is also considered to be the goddess of Kashi in Uttar Pradesh. Kashi or Varanasi is called the city of light as the goddess does not only provide nourishment to the body, it provides nourishment to the soul in the form of enlightenment. She gives us the energy to attain knowledge.Annapurna Mata is Hindu Goddess who represents food. The word Annapurna is derived from two words i.e. Anna means food and Purna means complete or abundant. So Annapurna literally means “who is abundant [purna] with food [anna],” Goddess Annapurna is considered a form of Parvati Mata, wife of Lord Shiva. Annapurna Mata has two hands. She holds a bowl in one hand and a spoon in another. She is shown standing on a lotus or sits on a throne. She often saw giving food to Lord Shiva. For Hindus she is a protecting deity. She blessed her devotees with abundance of food and other worldly possessions of this word.

बारम्बार प्रणाम मैया बारम्बार प्रणाम
जो नहीं ध्यावे तुम्हें अमिबके,
कहां उसे विश्राम |
अन्नपूर्णा देवी नाम तिहारो,
लेत होत सब काम ||
प्रलय युगान्तर और जन्मान्तर,
कालान्तर तक नाम |
सुर सुरों की रचना करती,
कहाँ कृष्ण कहं राम ||
चूमहि चरण चतुर चतुरानन,
चारू चक्रधर श्याम |
चन्द्र चूड़ चन्द्रानन चाकर,
शोभा लखहि ललाम ||
देवी देव | दयनीय दशा में,
दया दया तब जाम |
त्राहि-त्राहि शरणागत वत्सल,
शरणरूप तब धाम ||
श्री ह्रीं श्रद्धा भी ऐ विधा,
श्री कलीं कमला काम |
कानित भ्रांतिमयी कांतिशांति,
सयीवर दे तू निष्काम ||
